Airbus A380, the giant of the skies
If you want to talk about innovation, huge space and lots of leg room for passengers, then you definitely want to talk about Airbus A380.
With a 550 passenger capacity divided into classes and 850 charter flights, the Airbus can literally be defined the giant of the skies: it is currently the biggest airplane in the world. For its technical characteristics the A380 is flown by 4 pilots and needs over thirty flight attendants in order to completely assist passengers. The latter may decide, with rates that range from 500 to 100.000 dollars, to stay in comfortable suites equipped with all kinds of comforts making their flight an unforgettable experience. Amongst the airline companies that have purchased this luxury aircraft, Lufthansa, Air France, Virgin Atlantic and many other business companies.
The Airbus A380 is not only a synonym of luxury and comfort but also state-of-the-art technology and management problems. The parts that make up the aircraft, in fact, are built in different European countries whilst the final assembly is carried out in Toulouse, with all the commercial problems that this choice brings, such as the lifting of various bridges and widening of roads in order to comfortably transport the parts. The engine of the great Airbus may be compared to that of a Ferrari for its power. It has 4 Rolls Royce Trent 900 propulsions, the top of the mechanical market.
Like with every aircraft, the Airbus A380, still in its trial phase, has passed its darker period, remaining victim to atmospheric harshness that, during its first trip towards the Big Apple, immediately caught the media’s eye and almost risked putting it's construction company into trouble with its Stock Exchange aftermath. There are also fun anecdotes tied to its construction and opening trip in 2007, beginning with the multimillionaire that purchased one in order to build his apartment in the sky or the middle-aged couple that, during their second honeymoon, were scolded by security for having made noisy sex in their own “cabin”.
